You want to study abroad in Europe or somewhere else in the world?
Students of MCS and HCI are welcome to participate in Erasmus+ or one of the other exchange programmes of the University of Würzburg!
Please note that organising an international exchange can require up to one year of advance planning.
In the MCS degree programme, a stay abroad is recommended after the **4th or 5th semester.** This means that the search for information and planning should ideally begin after the **2nd semester.**
A so-called semester off ([Urlaubssemester](https://www.uni-wuerzburg.de/studium/studienangelegenheiten/beurlaubung/))at JMU Würzburg should also be taken for a stay abroad.
ECTS points earned abroad can be credited to the MCS and HCI degree programmes, if applicable.
If ECTS points are credited for compulsory modules, there must be a large overlap of content with the compulsory module.
There is more leeway with ASQ ( [Allgemeine Schlüsselqualifikationen](https://www.uni-wuerzburg.de/spo/aufgaben-und-arbeitsbereiche/studien-und-pruefungsordnungen-promotions-und-habilitationsordnungen/pool-der-allgemeinen-schluesselqualifikationen-im-bachelorstudium-asq-pool/) - General Key Qualifications and electives.
Especially in the case of electives (Wahlpflicht - see your FSB - e.g. [Bachelor MCS's FSBs](https://mcs.phil2.uni-wuerzburg.de/bachelor/current/) or [Master HCI'FSBs](https://mcs.phil2.uni-wuerzburg.de/master/current/), ECTS can also be credited for courses that have something to do with computer science, psychology or design in the broader sense.
The subject advisor can confirm whether a course can be credited upon submission of a description of the course.
The MCS project and the Bachelor thesis can also be completed abroad.
The ECTS earned abroad will be credited after the stay. Please also read the information on credit transfer before your stay.
